Dearest Family of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Its once again a pleasure to write about our trip to you, we are also happy to know that you enjoy reading about what is actually happening on our trips. We hope all is well with you. We also thank God for his intervention when our steering rack or pinions were damaged at Obuasi in the Ashanti region few hours after leaving Kumasi to western region. Thank you so much for making our work easy by providing funds when we needed it most to fix the broken car. We completed the trip and arrived home safely and our families are in good health by the grace of God.
When David and Tory visited us in December of last year, David referred the pictures we took with our dear friends in the villages as the “Treasure of the trip”. David and Tory were filled with joy when they saw and took part of the great commission in Ghana. On this week’s trip we brought the pictures which were taken by us when David and Tory were in Ghana to our dear friends and they really loved it. We also showed the pictures to our new friends and also those villages we had missed on that trip. Mr. Amponsah sent his greetings and told us to tell all of you that the Presbyterian Church has provided him some materials such as tables and chairs and Bibles to be used with the talking Bibles to teach the believers at Okubeyeyie.
At Agorjor, Dade Mantse was so pleased when we brought his talking Bible in Dangme. The Dangme was among the five talking Bibles we received on Tuesday. Dade Mantse, the chief of Agorjor has requested that we visit more Dangme villages in the Somanya suburbs. There is also an Akan language called Akwapim which we would have to bring to the believers in the Eastern region. Of all the regions, Eastern region is the only region with different dialects which are not of the same tribe. In the Eastern region, we have to bring Ewe, Akwapim, and Dangme.
In the Ashanti region, we would need only Asante Twi. So far we are not really sure of the number of tribes in the Brong Ahafo because of the many migrants fromt he Northern region. We shall need more time in the Brong Ahafo because of the many tribes. Its an opportunity to reach many new believers and even people have not gotten the opportunity to hear the Word of God and many such people are the Brong Ahafo. There would be no need to travel to the Northern region any soon because we can find almost three quarter of the Northern tribes in the Brong Ahafo who are hired and work as farmers for the Brong people.
The hope the Holy Spirit will do all the teaching and would help those Northerners bring the Word to the Northerners as well. On our trip last trip we met some people who claim they are from Togo, a neighbouring country and speak Kotokoli language. Paul knew a bit about the tribe, now we are not even sure if there is any kotokoli translation but we would be glad if you can get us three talking Bibles in French because all three neighbor countries are french speaking countries. There is also a language called Sefwi pronounced Seshwi and are know to be of the Ahanta people. We hope these languages are written so that we can get talking Bibles to these places.
We are taking each trip to learn and apply new strategies. Thank you so much for making everything on this trip possible. Our car is breaking down and we plan to use the Scion XA for three regions and use the old Toyota car for the western region. We have no idea of the roads we would be traveling on when we start spending more days in each regions therefore we are hoping you help us with a stronger car as soon as possible. We appreciate all you contribution. We told David to look for Toyota SUVs because Toyota is cheaper to fix and and parts are available. Kindly consider Toyota highlander or 4runner. We are looking for a good price for the Scion and in case you need some funds to help in purchasing the car.
We are praying for the American team to be able to acquire those things that are needed in this work. Please pray for us to meet new men who are willing to bring the talking Bibles to other remote parts of their regions when we start spending more time in a region. May God bless you all.
Paul and Kwame.
