Tory Bjorklund, President
Tory’s vision with helping others was inspired by his past and the help he first received from someone who reached out to him. Tory found himself living on his own with no one to help him. He had gotten involved in drugs and alcohol and now found himself facing criminal charges, which included two felonies. It was at this point someone stepped into his life and helped him get on a right path.
Tory met a pastor who took the time to invest in his life by teaching and ministering to him. It was through the influence of this pastor that Tory became a Christian and gave him the inspiration to help people who found themselves in a transition in life. Many of these people were those getting out of jail or coming out of drug and alcohol rehab. Tory started volunteering with jail and prison ministries and also worked with Prison Fellowship. This involvement eventually led him to TRC Ministries, previously known as The Regeneration Center.
Tory worked with Betty Coleman to create the service organization of which he is now the president, board member, and acting director. Tory sets the direction of TRC and is a big part in executing the vision and mission of TRC as well as directing and enabling volunteers and staff in the various programs at TRC.
Tory does all this through volunteering his time and talents; he would encourage everyone to use the gifts God has given them to advance the Kingdom of God. Your involvement in the Kingdom of God could be as powerful as prayer, as simple as giving or as generous volunteering your time and talents. Is there a specific way you can see yourself getting involved with TRC?
Dave Schonberg
Dave was born in 1946. For as long as he can remember, Dave has loved God and wanted to follow Him. Dave and his wife Jean are grandparents and great-grandparents. After fifty-two years of selling sweet corn, melons, tomatoes, squash, onions, etc, in Alexandria, MN, he retired in 2019.
In 1996, one of Dave’s friends went to jail on a DUT charge. One thing led to another, including Jail Bible studies, residential mentoring, and now for 7 years, machine shop training and opportunities for ex-offenders and others. Dave has been on the board of TRC Ministries since the late ’90’s.
Daniel Miller
Daniel Miller was born into a large family in the middle of North Dakota. By the age of 16 he was caught in the many sinful traps of this world. Fortunately however, Christianity was introduced at that time to his family. After a number of his brothers and sisters asked Jesus into their lives, he also joined them as a “soldier of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Dan said after that his “life took a 180 degree turn! I now was putting Jesus first in my life rather than myself and my own selfishness.”
At age 23 he married a beautiful Christian lady named Kelly. Six months later they moved to Alexandria Minnesota. Fourteen months into their marriage their first baby was born. They had three more children over the next nine years. He has been employed by Douglas Machines in Alexandria since 1988.
Dan joined TRC Ministries Board of Directors because he believes there is a big need for this type of ministry in our country today and, as he put it, “to see this need met in our area is a desire of my heart.”
Rita Lotti
Rita’s love for Jesus began at a very young age growing up in a loving home in Alexandria, MN. She has always had a heart of mercy for children and the elderly. Even as a 2nd grader she had a special connection with a few little kindergarteners she would give pushes to on the swings at recess.
As her love for Jesus grew, her heart for children did as well. As soon as Rita heard that Dave and Jean Schonberg had purchased the 6th Avenue Community Center, she called them and said that she wanted to be a part of a program for children in the area! The doors opened to Community Kids in the fall of 2008 and it has been running two days a week ever since. 2021 is the start of their 14th year.
Rita and her superhero husband Quinto have been hosting the Community Kid Teens in their home for a meal, homework and games for about 10 years. They offer support, encouragement, love and rice crispy roll-ups! They maintain meaningful relationships with many of the Community Kids even after they have become adults. They use their own love for Jesus and each other as the foundation for loving on the kids God sends to their table.
Rita joined the board to be a part of the continuation of all the amazing ministries under the TRC Ministries umbrella.
Adele and Austin Graser
Austin has had a passion for sharing the gospel and for missions ever since giving his life to the Lord as a teenager. He has gone on many short term mission trips around the world and continues to lead trips on a regular basis. He loves being able to introduce people to the missions field which has resulted in him leading multiple youth mission trips in recent years.
Adele grew up in a loving family that was very focused on outreach and helping others. Shortly out of high school she partnered with Rita Lotti to help start Community Kids and enjoyed giving local kids a safe and fun place to build community.
Austin and Adele got married in 2014 and have been enjoying using their shared passions to serve their church, community, and mission teams. They both serve on the missions board of their church and were excited to be asked to join TRC Ministries in 2020!
