The Regeneration Center (TRC) is sending 150 new Audio Bibles to Ghana in August. Tory Bjorklund and his son-in-law, Austin Graser, will travel to Ghana this month to help direct the distribution of the Bibles and train some of the Timothies who are receiving the Bibles. Twenty of the new Bibles will go to regions in the southern half to replace damaged Bibles. Another twenty Bibles will go to the Accra Timothies and the remaining 110 Bibles will be distributed to regions in the northern half.
In June, a team from TRC’s partners in Ghana traveled to the Eastern, Ashanti, Western and Brgon-Ahafo Regions of Ghana to follow-up on some of the Audio Bibles that have been distributed to various villages from 2012-2013. Here are a few narratives the team reported back to TRC on their visits to these villages:
@ Akai Falls Junction: We met a beneficiary by the name of Stephen Adjapong. We inquired of him the state of the Audio Bible and he said it was in good shape and still in use. According to Stephen, the Bible has been an immense blessing to the people and has transformed many lives.
@ Bawkunor: One of the beneficiaries, Awaitey Johnson was very happy to see us. The Audio Bible at Bawkunor is not in good shape because the solar panel had been damaged. However, it has been partially fixed by tying the wires together. This enables the people to still use it. According to Stephen, the village still gathers around it to listen to the Word of God.
@Sabia: We went to Sabia with Joshua of Donkorkrom and met Nana Sabia, the chief priestess. The Bible was in good shape and it had transformed many lives as a good number of the people have joined the local church. Using the Word of God, we took our time to encourage Nana Sabia to abandon the shrine she presides over and accept Christ as her Lord and Savior. She admitted that her fear was that her oracle would kill her as this had previously happened to her mother when she had accepted Christ and was baptized but we allayed her fears.
@ J. Y. Dagarti: When we got there, we were told that the Audio Bible was in the North of Ghana where the chief of JY Dagarti now lives. The people confirmed that the Dagari Bible has transformed many into Christians. The chief who is said to be a Christian now, had so loved the Word of God and so left with the Bible.
@ Old Edobo: Patrick Nyiezu was the last Timothy we visited and there was a lot of joy. Patrick made us aware that the Audio Bible had transformed many lives because it had enjoyed a high patronage there since the people were oral learners. Both the old and young loved to listen to the Bible and ask Patrick questions. Patrick talked about the goodness of the Lord such as having American and South African business men establish a virgin coconut oil factory in their community. He is understandably happy because he is fully employed and receiving a stable income. This enables him to do the Lord’s work without monetary limitations.
