In early January, at about midnight, Ngmedjor’s 6-year-old niece, Safia was taken ill with a fever which made her shake uncontrollably. Without access to a health care facility, as is often the case in most parts of rural Ghana, Safia’s family was at its wits end. In the midst of their desperation, Ngmedjor remembered that he had heard the story about how Jesus healed the sick and expressly said in Mark 16:18 that those who believe in Him will place their hands on the sick and they will get well.
Ngmedjor said he took Jesus at His Word and placed his hand on the little girl and asked Jesus to heal her. About an hour after the prayer was said, the fever went down and Safia was able to sleep again. She woke up the following morning completely healed and started playing with her friends.
Owing to Safia’s healing, Ngmedjor and the seven members of his household including Safia’s parents, have given their lives to Christ and are now active members of the small fellowship at Salinwea.
