Update from June 2022
From Oti Salvador, Director at “La Cosecha”
“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me.” John 5:39
God urges us to read and search the Scriptures because they show us Jesus our Savior. In them we always find what we need for whatever circumstances of our lives as well as for our spiritual growth. For this reason, nine years ago God led us to study His Word together with brothers of the church. On Saturdays we have a discipleship class to treat themes of importance for our lives. We are very happy to conclude this month with a study that we began in August of last year and we can see that through these years of learning, the brothers that attend have grown and strengthened their spiritual life and we can see fruit in them. We firmly believe that God has led us in this path which is a great blessing for all. Now in consecutive manner we are in a study of the book of Acts called, “Authentic Christianity” by pastor Martin Lloyd-Jones. We pray that more brothers will attend these discipleship classes and be able more each day to marvel at the blessed Word of God and will be able to grow in faith and love for our God.
We are thankful to God for His care and protection for us. A few weeks ago, while the men traveled to the church for the Sunday meeting, an accident occurred. The van in which they were riding had a problem. We still don’t know if it was a mechanical problem or an electrical problem (it was an old van) but the motor caught on fire. Thanks to God, the men got out of the van and nothing major happened save the loss of the vehicle which remains useless. But despite the loss we see the love and faithfulness of God as well as His care for the men in rehabilitation. We are praying for the provision of another van, as it is very useful for us to transport the men from the residence and to transport people who visit the ministry.
We are also learning to make tents, now that a young man who has come to be rehabilitated is dedicated to the selling and renting of furniture for parties. He is sharing his knowledge and teaching how to make them.
The men have planted corn, beans and various vegetables. Thanks to God it has rained and things are growing.
We love you in the love of Christ. May God bless you.
So far $2,000 has been raised and dedicated to help them replace the van. If you wish to donate to the vehicle fund above your normal donation, please specify it is for the vehicle fund in the notes section of the giving form online, or on the memo line of a check. You can mail your check to TRC Ministries, PO Box 1196, Alexandria, MN 56308.
Edit: Since the original publication of this post, there’s been a miraculous answer to prayers. Read the latest update here.
